Today was perhaps a day of transition. I placed Hayley's blanket, bonnet and mittens in a box with her name on it. I added the 'footprintson my heart' printed on blue sky, white clouds paper, a note I wrote back in September and one I received from my neighbor. This morning I wrote to her again. And then Haley's grandpa and I picked up her balloon and took it to Valley Forge Park, where we released it. We found a high spot with no obstuctions, and it lifted into the sky towards the heavens. We watched it until it was a tiny silver dot in the sky. That was for her.

I then met with a small group of my friends who are amazingly supportive. All in all, a not too bad day. Tonight at dinner, whatever that may be, I shall raise a glass to her.
