You are so right, booboo. I remember one woman in particular saying, "I don't know why you're so upset. It's not like it (IT) ever even breathed". This, mind you, from a woman whose mantra was "Abortion is murder!" My baby died at the end of the 7th month and I delivered 3 1/2 weeks later. My mother wanted to have the baby buried in the family plot (at her expense, I might add) but the yutz said no way and my doctor arranged to have the body donated.

I do admire the women who are open about their breast cancers. I too remember when it was a taboo subject. Thank God, I've never had to face that (so far). Lord knows a woman needs all the help she can get in that area.

Military hospitals SUCK!!!!!!! Especially when it comes to obstetrics. When I lost my baby, we were stationed at a small base in California which didn't have a hospital, just a dispensary, so everybody could go to civilian doctors. We left there to go to Corpus Christi, Texas and I got pregnant soon after. The military doctors refused to even acknowledge the fact that I had been pregnant before, much less address the problem with the first pregnancy. I went to a civilian doctor and hospital (we paid for it--medical costs hadn't skyrocketed then) and you wouldn't believe the remarks people made, both military and civilian. "You're spending all that money just to have a baby?!" Why yes, I am. Put a price tag on your child. I don't tell you how to spend your money, don't tell me how to spend mine. The civilian doctor put me on a folic acid supplement called Vitron C+. The military doctor laughed at me and told me there was no such thing. What? I'm taking imaginary pills? I read my chart one day while waiting for the military doc to come in and there was absolutely no mention of my being Rh negative. Negligence, pure and simple. Consequently, I stayed away from people as much as I could during the pregnancy and my son's infancy, times when I needed a network of friends. My in-laws lived there and my MIL invented bitchy. For the first 3 months of my son's life she couldn't shut up about how ugly she thought his nose was. We got lucky with my daughter. The base had a doctor shortage and they let anybody who wanted to go civilian.

That was not my intention. I won't post again. But, in leaving, I will say that I am in pain for my child and only wanted an outlet for it.

I owe everyone here an apology for my last posts. I showed a total lack of sensitivity and I truly regret it. My daughter does have my unconditional love and support, and I think you can see that if you reread some of my earlier posts. I was simply terrified for her and seeking help. I hope you can forgive me.
