I was so sorry to read of the loss of your dear grandson Jack. I think I can understand a little bit of what you have been through. I am Mimi and we lost our first grandson, Eli, last Christmas. I have been trying to heal from this, along with my husband and our daughter and her husband. We are all doing better now and I haven't been checking this site. So many people responded to my first posting "I'm New Here" and I can tell that "Granmeg" is a very caring woman, as well as all the wonderful young women who also post here. I feel that I have been selfish in forgetting that others need MY support now. We have done many things to help ourselves heal and to remember little Eli. Writing helps. Posting on this site helps.(My daughter has found it very helpful.) Reading: "Empty Cradle, Broken Heart" and "Good Grief" were helpful to my daughter. They scattered Eli's ashes and had a ceremony together. We gave them a granite bench with his name and birth/death date looking out on the beautiful lake where his ashes were scattered. I still become teary sometimes when I run across a child named Eli. But it does get better. You will never forget your dear Jack, but his loss will become a part of who you are and his memory will be part of your family forever. I hope you and your family will find healing and peace. Mimi
